I feel my writing powers returning to me, like an old muscle creaking it’s way back into movement. It’s the ideas that I’ve noticed more than anything else, the constant (almost incessant) drone of “You should write about this,” “This would make a great series,” etc etc. However, knowing myself and my history I fear that to launch into any “long-term” project would result, as it always has, into a short spell of writing and then something will happen and I’ll lose interest or miss one and then the series will be forever under hiatus (see: [Nate’s Nugs], [30 minute writing challenge], [Attention Seekers], [Story Beatz].
With that said, I do need some sort of outlet. I can’t keep writing to an audience of just myself (and even I barely go back and read what I’ve written). I still have the domain NateChai.com, probably should do something with that. Hire a web-dev on fiverr and have them create my vision. I spend so much money on pointless other shit, I may as well put it toward something useful.
NateChai.com currently just points to a BlueHost hosting page. I think it’s my need for perfection that has stopped me from progressing in the past and let me down/ stopped me from moving forward with everything. Ideally I want a text-based site, nothing flashy, that let’s me (and users) find the various bits and bobs quickly and without pretence. However, most of the Wordpress themes are obsessed with content richness with more bells and whistles constantly clanging and chiming. When all I want is something simple and uncluttered with the ease of the Wordpress backend.
This text-only front-end has proven nigh-impossible to find and therefore must seemingly be custom built by someone that knows far more about html (?) than me, but making sure it’s easily usable with having to fuck around with an FTP client (which tbh, I’m not opposed to) is the rub.
Ah well, I’ll just have to keep on writing for you exclusively Google Doc.
