Ah man, my shoulders are aching! Climbing + gym is difficult to maintain, ideally I’d do both twice a week but that is proving harder than I initially anticipated. It seems with my current lifestyle I can only fit in three “exercise” sessions a week, will have to do better. The trouble comes with being in the office on Thursdays, shlubbing it back from Chiswick whilst not especially tiring just takes it out of me and once I’m home I’m glad to be back.
With that said, I should be picking up a weighted vest on Friday which will add some resistance to my daily press-up routine and if I introduce some planking into the mix… I should see a lot more growth in my strength which would mean that I don’t need the gym as much. However the gym is more about hanging out with Emma than it is fitness, could just change the routine though and simply “go to the gym” with Emma and then go off an do our own things.
I’m much more interested in the Calisthenics side of things that weight training BUT I’m MUCH MUCH more interested in spending time with Emma and supporting each other in our fitness journeys. Oh well, I’ll figure it out.
The music side of things went super well yesterday and got a lot done. The EP is shaping up nicely and only needs a few more bits and bobs before we’re done. Its hard to balance all the things that we’d like to do with the EP and how much time we actually have left to complete everything before we send it off to get mixed.
We’ve got 2 weeks left before the final deadline and, although most of the tracks I would consider “finished,” the finale is still very much a WIP. Ah well, we’ve got some momentum now and that is a big part of getting these creative projects over the line.
It’s also been a fascinating learning experience from working with Phelan and Rob on how to:
- Motivate people to do stuff
- Actually produce music
I doubt this will be the last music project that I work on. Might do some solo stuff next… and there’s always that pesky book of short stories that I keep meaning to do.
